Peter Lassen

Peter Lassen (born 1930) started his professional career as a navy lieutenant, but soon he developed an interest in furniture design. He was employed by a well-known Danish furniture manufacturer and was influenced by his work with the great architects Arne Jacobsen, Jørn Utzon, Piet Hein and Verner Panton. The evidence is seen in the clean lines and functionality of Peter J. Lassen’s design.
In 1982 he founded Montana Møbler on the island of Funen in Denmark. The “factory” then covered 500m2, today the production facilities of Montana cover 19.000 m2 and Montana has 180 employees.
Over the years Peter J. Lassen has developed the Montana system and added the table system Monterey, the shelving system Skyline, wardrobes, and an office line called Montana CO16 to the program. Together with Verner Panton he reedited Verner Panton’s Wire cube in 1998. Together with the architect Andreas Hansen he has designed the chair collection AP.
Peter J. Lassen is also the designer behind a series of height adjustable tables HS and HS2PR,and the tables MP which he has designed together with his son Joakim Lassen.
